100 MILES FOR HOPE

Uncasville, CT

Yesterday, Aug. 9, 2020, my walk in support of The American Legion's 100 Miles For Hope - for the Veterans & Children Foundation - had me visiting VFW's Post 10060, Montville, Conn., American Legion Post 112, Montville, and American Legion Post 9, New London, Conn., where I am a past post commander. It was a long day, but I did manage to walk 35.9 miles, bringing my total so far to 51.5 total miles walked in support of The American Legion's Veterans & Children Foundation.

Since its creation in 1925, the American Legion Veterans & Children Foundation has delivered over $30 million in financial assistance for disabled veterans, military families and young people who lost parents in service to our nation. Income from the foundation investments is used to fund Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation programs and Temporary Financial Assistance, which provides funds to minor children of active-duty or American Legion members.
