I am a member of Mississippi American Legion Post 3. I started the 100 Miles for Hope on Aug. 7 walking with my grandson Owen. I got held up a little from the weather of two hurricanes, and then had some medical issues. But we finished yesterday, Oct. 19. Owen did the last mile with me. I am fortunate to live next to a national park, so I did all my walking in Vicksburg National Military Park. The picture shows Owen and I walking past the Mississippi African-American Monument. In February 2020, National Commander Oxford visited the park, and I was his guide. If he comes back we can walk it instead of drive!
