I’m a member of Post 160 in Adams, Mass. I decided to do my walk on the Glen Meadow loop at the base of Mount Greylock where the Massachusetts State War Memorial Tower sits. I then branched out to also hiking the various associated trails. When I started walking on Aug 9, Mount Greylock and the surrounding area was a deep green.
When I reached my 100-mile goal on Sept. 28, the leaves were just beginning to turn.
By the time I reached 100 miles on the Glen Meadow loop alone on Oct. 20, the mountain was in its full glory. I plan to continue walking and hiking that area even after losing 5 lbs and the beard (1 oz).
