300 miles - 100 for each organization

Shickley , NE

I did it. That lonely dirt road over my shoulder is where I do much of my walking, and admittedly, I'm a lot better about walking it when the weather is warmer.

Back in August, I registered for The American Legion's "100 Miles for Hope.” Thanks to the Fillmore County (Nebraska) Hospital's annual Step It Up Challenge, I reached that first 100 miles on Aug. 20 and decided to keep going.

My first 100 miles was in honor of my father, a Korean War veteran and active Legionnaire. My second 100 miles would be in honor of my mother, a charter member of our American Legion Auxiliary unit. That goal was reached on 9/11. My last 100 miles would be for our SAL squadron, of which my brother is a charter member. That goal was finally reached this last week - on 10/27. It's been fun, #100milesforhope!
