Karlie Karst of Peever, S.D., became the first girl in the nation to be awarded the Legion Baseball scholarship. She was awarded this in the state of South Dakota. She played Legion Baseball for the last three seasons for Sisseton Legion Post 50 of Sisseton. Karlie is also a member of Sisseton Legion Auxiliary Post 50.
