Our company went to the range on a hot, drizzly day, despite being under advisory to limit activity. On the way back, we double-timed. All those who were collapsing were put in the deuce-and-a-half. Most went in still somewhat awake. I collapsed suddenly, and when I awoke, my body was getting totally stiff. Luckily, several men picked me up and moved my muscles to bring me back to life. It was the first time I got to eat in the officer's mess since it was the only thing open when I was able to move.
