Brass and Ammo

During basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. and leaving the rifle range at the end of the day, everyone in ranks stood at attention and individually had to repeat the words "Sir I have no brass or ammo", which simply meant that you weren't leaving the range with any live ammo/cartridges.

One of the recruits (I won't mention his name) was a little nervous and shouted out "Sir I have no ass or brammo." The poor guy ended up with his nose in a light pole shouting out the correct message.
