My fondest memory is my drill instructor, Sgt. Juania (spelling?), who I will never forget from my basic training in Fort Jackson in 1961.
He basically turned boys into men with his strict discipline and military knowledge.
Sgt. Juania was the push-up champion at Fort Jackson, which is an amazing story in itself.
Thank you, Sgt. Juania, for having such an influence on me that continues to this day.
