I was new to Marine Corps basic training as a 17-year-old recruit and standing inspection. I had awakened with a very large white-headed pimple. As the sergeant came down the rank he saw that and stopped in front of me. In the typical loud D.I. voice he informed me that if the Marine Corps wanted me to have a zit on my forehead they would issue me one! He then proceeded to pop the zit with his fist. I stood the rest of the inspection a little dazed as pus and blood ran down my face!
