Goodwin-Lee Post 138 participated in the 1st Annual Festival of Trees for the City of Alabaster, Ala. Over 50 trees were sponsored and decorated by local businesses and nonprofit organizations. Post 138 decorated their tree with a "Be the One" theme by putting cards with messages on the tree that encouraged people to "Be the One" to help end veteran suicides. Although Post 138 did not win an award, or bragging rights for the best tree, its only goal was to make the public aware of being the one to end veteran suicides.
