American Legion Post 189 in Pine Mountain Valley, Georgia continues to highlight Be the One. This past Saturday, the Post hosted the SEWrority Sisters Quilting Guild's monthly meeting. The guild does an outstanding job of recognizing veterans through their Quilts of Valor committee. When the guild asked what they could pay for the use of the Post, the answer was 5 minutes on the meeting agenda. National Vice Commander Shreve spoke to the 50+ members of the guild and he asked all members to Be the One. Shreve directed the members to Betheone.org. Once Shreve spoke, the guild President asked the members how many had been affected by suicide. Over 30% of the members raised their hands. An additional local organization is now on board.
