Members of James O. Hall Post 19 of the American Legion Department of Louisiana, from Jennings, were present when Jennings Mayor Henry Guinn signed a proclamation recognizing Oct. 10, 2019, as American Legion Post 19 Centennial Day. The official founding date for the Post is October 10, 1919. Those Post 19 members present for the signing included (listed in no particular order here) Bob Doucet, Grace Dalton, Bill Caraway, Sam Doucet, Becky Doucet, Horace Naquin, Charles Burrell, Darrell Landry, Jimmy Richert, Mike Sanchez, Carl Benoit, Glenn McFarlain and Larry Benoit.
