GI Bill, life builder

Mattoon Lodge , MO

I am a Korean War veteran. Upon returning from duty in 1954 after the peace agreement, I wanted to return to college even though I had a job awaiting for me on the railroad. Due to the Veterans Bill of Rights I was financially able to do this. With this help I was able to finish my college degree and land a career job with the Defense Department. I moved up the ladder and sustained a position that enabled me to serve in Washington, D.C., as a scientist and later as a supervisor for defense mapping and intelligence support for Desert Shield and the Iraq War. I retired from that service and am now living a comfortable life in retirement, and owe all my achievements to the GI Bill.
Thank you, American Legion, for your support for veterans by giving them support for the bill, and for the many accomplishments afforded veterans through your actions.
