Col. Otha Newton, American Legion Department of Virginia 2nd District Honor Guard, gave a presentation on his unit before members of American Legion Post 110 in Virginia Beach on Feb. 23, 2022. Col. Newton spoke about how the honor guard was founded, the duties they preform in support of military veterans and the community, and the urgent need to recruit new members to serve in the honor guard. At the meeting, the honor guard also posted and retrieved the U.S. flag, the American Legion flag band placed the POW/MIA flag on the empty chair.
