Post 186 (Little River, S.C.) training with the "Old Guard"

Loris, SC

Good afternoon. The American Legion Post 186 color/honor guard is an all-volunteer team in Little River, S.C. We are incredibly humbled and proud to have been accepted for advanced training with the Arlington Ceremonial "Old Guard."

This training will help sharpen our skills to provide a moving tribute of lasting importance to the veteran’s family on behalf of the president of the United States, the veteran's branch of service, and a grateful nation for their honorable and faithful service to our country.

The training will cover casket bearing, firing party, flag folding and color guard training, followed by visiting the Caisson, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and other areas within Arlington National Cemetery.

From June 2021 through June 2022, our team volunteered over 2,000 hours; from June 2022 to the present, our team has volunteered over 600 hours providing military honors.

The travel, training and visiting dates are set for Sept. 19-22, 2022.
