Air Force retired Colonel Don Edmands, Jr., a member of American Legion Post 256, Tellico Lake, recently traveled to Germany to present Air Force Junior ROTC medals to high school cadets.

Air Force Junior ROTC Cadet Tyler Bernard is presented the American Legion Military Excellence Medal by Edmands at Bitburg High School, Germany. Bernard is from Warrensburg, Missouri, and is a junior at Bitburg High School. His father, Senior Master Sergeant Rodney Bernard, is stationed with the 52nd Fighter Wing at Spangdahlem AFB, Germany.

The cadets are children of American military servicemembers serving in Europe. They attend a high school operated by the Department of Defense.
