Oro Valley, Ariz., Post and Unit 132 receive award

During the opening ceremony of the 2016 Stand Down for homeless and at-risk veterans, the event’s sponsoring organization, Tucson Veterans Serving Veterans, honored American Legion Oro Valley Post and Auxiliary Unit 132 for their steadfast support of veterans in need.
Bruce Hamilton, chairman of the board of TVSV, presented the “Chairman’s Award” to the post and unit. Present to accept the awards were Ed Davis, Post 132 past commander, and Onita Davis, Unit 132 past president.
Assisting in presenting the awards were Wanda Wright, director of the Arizona Department of Veterans Services, and Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild. Surrounding the proud recipients are members of the post's color guard, who posted the colors during the event's open ceremony, and other members of the post and auxiliary.
