June 12, 2019, was a special day for Charles A. Conklin American Legion Post 28, Grand Haven, Mich. U.S. Congressman Bill Huizenga of Michigan's 2nd District commended Post 28 -- on their 100th anniversary -- on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. Huizenga's proclamation included Post 28's founding in 1919 by 35 local veterans of Grand Haven and the programs and services Post 28 and Post 28 Family units have provided veterans, veterans' families and the local community.
