Memorial Day tradition

Harold B. Jarrett Post 342 - Salisbury, NC

Rowan County has been honored to be the location of the Salisbury National Cemetery and the Cemetery Annex, which is located on the grounds of the Bill Heffner VA Medical Center. In celebration of Memorial Day, the members of local Legion posts, the VFW, several AMVET posts, Scout troops and churches gather at both locations and place a flag at the headstone of those who rest there.
For over 15 years Harold B. Jarrett Post 342 has been providing a pancake breakfast for those volunteers and will do so again this year. On average we feed 150 people with pancakes, bacon, sausage, coffee, milk and orange juice.
