Here in Berwick, Pa., we will be celebrating with a bridge wreath ceremony honoring World War II veterans. This will be in conjunction with a parade from the Nescopeck VFW onto the bridge between the two towns. There my wife, representing the National Women's Relief Corps, will drop a wreath into the Susquehanna River in memorial to the sailors lost at sea. Then we will continue the march to the cemetery in town to the War Memorial for area government officials to speak and wreaths to be placed before the memorial.
Afterwards the VFW in Berwick hosts refreshments and snacks.
As I am a Legion member and a Knights of Columbus member, I will be taking part in the parade and be hosting a celebration at my home for fellow members.
