At the 2016 New Mexico State Fair, the 44th Army Band performed "Old Glory, Our Flag' with USAF MSgt David Morrison of the 210th Red Horse Squadron, who wrote the song when returning from his last deployment overseas. Morrison now serves local veterans as a Disabled Veterans Outreach Program specialist for the State of New Mexico and is the service officer for American Legion Post 18 in Silver City, NM,
