Malta Bend School, Malta Bend Memorial Post 558 host 19th blood drive with Community Blood Center of Kansas City

Malta Bend, MO

Community Blood Center of Kansas City, Malta Bend School and Malta Bend Memorial Post 558 held their first blood drive for 2023 on Wednesday, Jan. 18. A total of 47 donors were able to donate 48 units of blood, the highest number ever at our blood drives. This resulted from 38 whole blood units and 10 ALYX (double red blood cell) units.

This is the 19th blood drive sponsored by Malta Bend School and Post 558, since our first recorded drive on Aug. 27, 2014. This blood drive beat last year’s top number of 43 units, setting the total number of donated units at 649. While Malta Bend School helps with the sponsorship, Post 558 provides a location and CBC runs the show, these numbers could not be obtained without those who show up and are able to donate blood. And with that, we say thank you!
