The Cresson Pennsylvania American Legion Band, Post 238, was organized in 1953 consisting of members from Cresson, Pa., and nearby Gallitzin, Pa.
Our band played at firemen's conventions within 100 miles of Cresson and won first-place prizes at 95 percent of all the events they played. The band was active for approximately seven years.
