Thousands lined the parade route. Cheers went up. Veterans saluted the passing colors. And in the end, Indio, Calif.'s Herman Granados Post 739 Color Guard was honored with first place recognition among color guards participating in the Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival Parade.
What made this honor all the more noteworthy is that all four of the American Legion members were preceeded in the parade by their 12-year-old grandsons, each a Sons of The American Legion (SAL) member, carrying the post's banner.

This is just one more example of how SAL members of all ages step up to support not only their fathers and grandfathers, but all veterans and Legionnaires and the local community in which they live. Congratulations on a job well done!
