Veterans Day

American Legion Seicheprey Post 2 has a full day on Nov. 11. The post begins with its monthly breakfast at the post. This starts at 8 a.m. and goes to 11 a.m. Pictures from the local military museum from WWI will be played on the unit's media center.
Work has been done through the local churches, fire department and post to take part in "Bells of Peace." At 11 a.m., the Bristol Fire Department bell on North Main Street will ring. Some churches that do not have services will take part by ringing their bells (number unknown at this time). At the same time at Chippens Hill Middle School, the Captain's Bell from the WWII ship USS Kidd will ring 21 times to start the annual Veterans Day Ceremony. After the 21 rings the Post 2 Honor Guard will fire a rifle volley. Afterwards the ceremony will begin. The ceremony will end with another rifle volley and Taps.
A light meal is slated back at the post after the ceremony.
At 4 p.m. the local Bristol Wind Ensemble will have a free concert for veterans at Chippens Hill. Middle School.
At 6 p.m. the Post 2 Auxiliary will hold a lumination on the street leading to the post.
