We are doing a coloring contest for grades K-4 for Veterans Day. Winners will receive $20, runner-up $10 and honorable mention $5. There will be 90 winners in all out of the six schools in Tippah County. They will receive the money, certificate and winners at a meal on Veterans Day. There will be six overall winners who will receive $30.
We're having a jail-and-bail fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House on Oct. 1.
We are selling tickets for a $1,000 giveaway for Veterans Day at $10 a ticket as a fundraiser.
We are feeding Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop F with Sept. 7 fish plates.
We are going to have a flag-burning service at the post with the Boy Scouts doing the ceremony and burning the flags, in September. We're going to feed them and give them a donation.
We are scheduling a grand opening for our new veterans park in Ripley for Veterans Day. We'll be serving bbq, have music, a band, color guard, guest speakers, and recognize our Gold Star Families and the seven WWII veterans left in the county.
We will be participating in the October chili contest that Ripley Main Street will be putting on.
