Members of Post 302 at their first mini-golf tournament.

For the thrill of friendly competition

Fenton, MO

Socialization and comradery are just two of the reasons why Missouri Post 302 has flourished as an organization. Most recently, the post decided to have their very first mini-golf tournament! Its purpose was not for fundraising or social awareness. Its goal was to get veterans of all ages, especially the elusive younger members, together for a night of fun and entertainment. Braving the cold November weather, members of Post 302 enthusiastically played 18 holes at the popular Swing -A-Round Funtown, a family-friendly establishment for all ages. Two things were for certain: 1. There's no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing; and 2. If we had to do it again, we would do it during warmer weather! Post 302 plans to establish a new tradition and open future tournaments to other posts in the area! This way, everyone can participate and have the same great experiences with their fellow veterans.

Congratulation goes out to the highest scoring golfers: First Place, Richard Burton. Second Place, Thomas Plager. Third Place tie, Kelly Dickerson and Edward Ucinski.

A special thank-you is in order for our tournament judges and scorekeepers, Florian Kempinger, Hanna Flock and Celina Kozer. All three are German exchange students from the Congress-Bundestag for Young Professionals and are currently attending St. Louis Community College. The students volunteered their time and brought a positive influence to the event. They were very much appreciated! It was another great example of our veterans working together with members of our community, even ones from our international sister city. Danke fur Ihre Dienstleistung!
