DFC Society - Linebacker II 50th Anniversary podcasts

Temecula, CA

2022 is the 50th-anniversary year of Linebacker II, which brought the Vietnam War to a conclusion for the United States and the return of the POWs. In remembrance, The Distinguished Flying Cross Society will be presenting a series of four podcasts on Linebacker II.

LINEBACKER II “STORY HOTLINE”
Your role in Linebacker II is important and needs to be recorded for posterity.
If you have a Linebacker II story that you would like to be considered for public distribution in an upcoming podcast, this is your chance - it may take a few minutes of your time to prepare but it will be deeply appreciated.
Please call: (605) 388-2798
You will be greeted by an automated line with instructions on what to present after the beep. For your convenience, the information required is:
1. Your name
2. Your role in Linebacker II (ex. I was an A-7 pilot from the Saratoga, I was a maintainer based at Anderson, I was a POW, I was a POW wife…)
3. Your story - please keep it 1-2 minutes in length
4. Your preparation:
- Consider writing out or outlining what you’ll say (in advance of calling in)
- Rehearse what you’ll say to become more comfortable with your call
- Feel free to create more than one story (separate call for each story)
- At the end of the call, please state your email and/or phone number
Know that once you leave your story, it may be used, without remuneration, in an upcoming podcast describing the events of Linebacker II and those preceding. It may also be edited for time. However, to be considered for inclusion in this podcast project, please leave your message by 25 August 2022.
The podcast is expected to be made available to teachers, educators and history enthusiasts in advance of the 50th anniversary, this December. The podcasts will be made available for public use, free of charge, on the website of the Distinguished Flying Cross Society, www.DFCSociety.org.
