Charles Roy Bonham American Legion Post 28 (Beaver City, Neb.) hosts Wreaths Across America 2022

Beaver City, NE

Charles Roy Bonham American Legion Post 28 will conduct Wreaths Across America ceremonies at Maple Creek Cemetery and Union Cemetery on Dec. 16, 2022. These two small rural cemeteries have 18 veterans each from the Civil War through the war on terrorism. Maple Creek has a Civil War veteran who was a guard at Ford Theater when President Lincoln was shot.
On Dec. 17, 2022, they will host ceremonies at Lynden Cemetery at Hendley, Neb., and place wreaths on the graves of 47 veterans, and at Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City and place wreaths on approximately 200 veterans' graves. These two cemeteries also have veterans from the Civil War to today.
This is our third year coordinating the ordering and placing of wreaths. It is a very touching tribute to our fallen heroes. It is also a very good fundraiser for our post.
I also take orders for surrounding cemeteries that are not enrolled in the program and ask the sponsors to pick up the wreaths and place them.
This year Wreaths Across America is placing over 2.5 million wreaths on veterans' graves at over 3,700 locations. I urge more Legion Family groups to get involved with "Remember, Honor and Teach."

Thanks,
