About the author: I, Neal M. Warren, served from 1966 to 1968 in the Marine Corps. Thirteen months were in Vietnam but due to the reactions of this country, when I was separated from the service I withdrew and put it to my past (so I thought).
In 1983, '84, Lebanon was front-page news. I saw when the first Marines arrived. There was singing and jokes, and they looked fresh and young. That changed when the barracks was bombed. Others may not have understood the changes that occurred, but I did. And my experiences in Vietnam returned with a vengeance. I needn't say more.
