Fairview American Legion Post 742 Lake Erie Polar Plunge

Encouraged by Commander Joe King and Financial Officer Tom Steele, Fairview Post 742 took on the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics in Lake Erie in Erie, Pa. The air temperature was 45 degrees with a cold wind, and the water temperature was 43 degrees. The board and staff took the challenge in swimsuits. Pictured (left to right) are: David Rupert, Mike Buffalo, Lee Rose, Ondie Shields, Commander Joe King, Joe Mazola and Tom Steele. The post raised an $800 donation for Special Olympics. Could we be the first American Legion post to do a Polar Plunge?
