Highway for a Vietnam hero

This channel will post such “Bringing Forgotten Soldiers’ Stories to Life” videos as periodic episodes. This will be based on research of the lives of family and friends, and in instances where knowledge of our brothers and sisters-in-arms rest in unmarked graves are known, advocate among their families for their completion of Veterans Administration processes that will place a military marker at their graves in respect and remembrance of service to the nation.

This is a YouTube video of the U.S. Army Lieutenant Frankie Lee Wallace Memorial Highway dedication ceremony on Nov. 17, 2018, in Cherokee, Ala., 52 years after he paid the ultimate sacrifice by saving members of his unit in Vietnam in 1966.
The Silver Star recipient’s story, recently made public earlier in the year, resulted in the commissioning of 18 miles of Highway 72 beginning at the Mississippi/Alabama state line in his honor.
