Pennsylvania Legionnaire is semi-finalist for Ms. Veteran America 2019

I am humbled and honored to announce I have been selected as a semi-finalist in the Ms. Veteran America 2019 contest. Semi-Finals will be held in Las Vegas, Nev. in June 2019 and if selected in the top 25, I will compete in finals October 2019 in Hollywood, Calif. In the meantime I will be preparing for this event and I am happy to represent as a female USAF veteran, mother of two USAF airmen, Department of Defense civilian and American Legion legionnaire.

Short Bio:
Lori McMath Varner, 49, is a proud U.S. Air Force veteran from Shade Gap, Pennsylvania. At 17, completed basic training in 1987 at Lackland AFB, Texas. Completed technical school at Chanute AFB, Illinois. Served at Tinker AFB, scheduling AWACS E-3 aircraft. Served six years honorably active duty Air Force and Air National Guard at the 193rd SOW at Harrisburg, PA. Diagnosed with PTSD, proud of her scars, she is a survivor. Lori still serves her country at Department of Defense agency DISA as a defense acquisition professional. Mother of two USAF airmen -daughter, Jessica, and son, Chase and grandmother to Ben and Lilly. Volunteers at Madden-Wennick American Legion Post #518, active honor guard member and deputy district commander of District 18. Lori resides in Shade Gap, Pennsylvania with husband, Matt and dog, Sir Winston. Lori has been selected as a semi-finalist in the Ms. Veteran America 2019 contest with proceeds from this event providing housing for homeless women veterans and their children.

The purpose of this program is to showcase “The Woman Beyond the Uniform.“ Grace. Poise. Beauty. Service. Ms. Veteran America is a movement, encouraging women veterans to uplift each other. Proceeds from this event provides housing for homeless women veterans and their children.
