The Chaplain

As you walk into your monthly meeting the post chaplain greets you at the door with a smile,
You feel welcome that someone acknowledged your presence.
The Invocation and the benediction was given, and to you the
chaplain’s job is done, The chaplain’s job has only begun,
A Legionnaire in distress, a prayer at school, the folding of the flag,
A presentation in the square, another funeral and the chaplain is there.
With Gods help, he makes positive things happen, God bless The American Legion
And God bless the chaplain

Many do not know what the chaplain does for the American Legion and their post. They work many hours dedicated in helping veterans within the community, and working within the schools teaching our youth about God and Country. A chaplain may be summoned to attend a funeral to honor a fallen comrade, and he will be there rain, sleet, snow or any time he is needed. This job is never ending but is very rewarding to be able to be part of giving honor to the fallen soldiers. I am very proud and honored to hold the office of chaplain for the American Legion.
Tell a chaplain how much you appreciate their service.
