My name is Jim Bergner and I am a member of the Olathe Post 153. I have been a member of the American Legion for about 45 years.

I lead a squad which presents colors throughout the community, including the Kansas City Royals. My Grandson, an Army combat medic and a two- year Legion member is home on leave so he joined my team on July 7 to present colors at the Royals baseball game.

It was pretty special for me to stand side by side, as we presented our Nation's colors. It did bring a tear to my eye.
