The first of the two past-commander boards with the flagpole rings to the left of each name.

All the National Convention flagpole rings

298 - Marion, IA

Post 298 in Marion, Iowa, sends a member with the post colors to march in the National Convention Parade. Each flagpole ring awarded for marching with our colors is mounted on a board next to the post commander’s name for that year. We confirmed with the wonderful workers at the Library in National Headquarters that rings were not issued during World War II, to use less metal and support the war effort. We are very proud of this piece of our history and hope the parades continue into our next 100 years.
