I have been a member of American Legion Post 18 in Visalia, Calif., for one year now. I recently became a webmaster for our new website. I was invited by my current commander and historian to look at some old, and I mean OLD, documents regarding the post in its infancy. My post commander, along with some others who have been in 15-plus years had suggested I look at some old curated documents and put them on the website. So today, here, I share our initial application to become a post of The American Legion. I was also told we were made a post before the Department of California was made a department. Enjoy!
