There is a broken man,
Alongside the road,
His head down,
His palms up.
There is a broken man,
Alongside the road ,
His eyes downcast,
His feet moving,
Unbenounced to the man.
There is a broken man,
Alongside the road,
A bullet in his shoulder,
And shrapnel in his leg,
And yet he seeks no help.
There is a broken man,
Alongside the road,
Staring at his medal of honor,
But still struggles to survive.
There is a broken man,
Alongside the road,
A veteran of war,
He served this great country.
There is a broken man,
Alongside the road,
Then a boy sits next to him,
And offers him help.
There is a fixed man,
Helping a boy with his homework,
And sharing his war stories.
The man was broken,
But now he is fixed,
All it takes is one moment,
To help a veteran.
