National Anthem Proclamination

American Legion Emil Ladner Post 42 - Ocean Springs , MS

May 28, 2012

Legion Post 42 of Ocean Springs followed the advise of the Legion Magazine to have your city proclaim respect for the National Anthem .

Proclamation by the City of Ocean Springs: Mayor Connie Moran, Mayor of Ocean Springs, recently signed a proclamation to commemorate our National Anthem signing by President Herbert Hoover on March 3, 1931 , Public Law 823. National American Legion encouraged each Post in the US to proclaim March 3 of each year as National Anthem Day in recognition of establishing the " Star Spangled Banner ” as the national anthem. The national anthem needs to be respected at all events in which it is played or sung
