Independence Day at Newport Harbor Post 291

American Legion Newport Harbor Post 291 - Newport Beach, CA

July 12, 2012

The American Legion Newport Harbor Post 291 hosted its annual July 4th fundraiser with great success! The day started by serving breakfast to over 230 Make-A-Wish children and their families.
The Seagals of the American Legion Yacht Club served breakfast and provided goodie bags for the children.

Members and guests enjoyed the passing of the annual Old Glory Boat parade wherein 40 boats decorated
in their best patriotic themes cruised about the harbor. Face painters were on hand for all the children.

The day continued on with over 1000 breakfasts and 700 lunches being served by dozens of volunteers to the membership
and general public with terrific music, sno-cones, popcorn, cocktails, and great raffle prizes.
Grand prize winners of a 42” flat screen TV donated it to “Patriots & Paws” a local non-profit organization for
returning veterans.

What a great 4th of July!
