10th Annual Dust Your Putt Benefit Run

Bremerton, WA

On Saturday, April 30, the American Legion Riders Washington Chapter Bremerton Post 149 held their 10th Annual Dust Your Putt Benefit Run. The run, led by Secretary Leo “Willie” Nelson, started and finished at American Legion Post 149 on Kitsap Way in Bremerton. The route took 34 motorcycle riders and passengers 165 miles throughout Kitsap and Jefferson counties. Lunch was provided by HWY 20 Roadhouse in Port Townsend. The fantastic staff there was able to get everyone fed and back on the road in a timely manner. Other stops included The Filling Station in Kingston and the Camp Union Saloon, where Liz and her staff were very hospitable as well. In all, about $700 was raised during the run through donations from participants and others. The run and other American Legion Riders events through the year benefit American Legion programs for children and youth such as Legion Baseball, Junior Shooting, Boys and Girls State and also some of the American Legion’s veterans causes.
