On July 3, 2023, members of Sons of The American Legion Squadron 503 and members of Auxiliary Unit 503 in Calabash, N.C., placed over 200 gravemarker flags at a cemetery in Shallotte, N.C. Assisting in this endeavor was Past Department of North Carolina Commander Mike Donnelly and his wife, Carolyn. Squadron 503 is very active in the local community and a loyal supporter of the Flying Flags for Heroes program.
