Carroll Post 31 in partnership with the Carroll Community College Foundation has established a scholarship that will allow for $1,000 a year to go toward a veteran, spouse or child of a veteran in efforts to further their education at Carroll Community College. This marks a $25,000 commitment from the post. Applications will begin this fall term! Giving back to our fellow veterans and our future leaders

Carroll Post 31 - Westminster, MD

Pride is something that defines my experience, and my feeling about my hometown post - Carroll Post 31 in Westminster, Md. Since I joined The American Legion 8 short years ago, it was apparent that Children & Youth was at the forfront of our efforts. Locally, we have donated thousands of dollars to our future leaders in our Carroll County community, and most recently have worked to establish an endowment with our local community college that will ensure that veterans, their spouses and children are eligible to receive a $1,000 scholarship to further their education. This fund will last for as long as the community college exists. This marks a $25,000 donation from our 900+ member American Legion. This, to me, is the reason why I belong! We all, at one time, signed on the dotted line and effectively donated our lives to our country...returning safely to the shores of America, it's with great pride that I am a member of The American Legion - Carroll Post 31 - and am able to continue to give back to our nation's heroes, our communities and our foundation, which is our future leaders!

Semper Fi!
