Portsmouth High School Senior Ryan Kelley (at right) received Post 18's $1,000 scholarship on Awards Night, 6 JUNE 2011. The applicants were tasked with writing an essay on "The Role of Service Dogs in the Rehabilitation of Combat Wounded Veterans." On hand for the presentation were: Post 18 CDR Robert Jerdan, Jr. Vice CDR David Hayward, Recent Past CDR George Wardwell, member/USA Battle Buddies CEO Steven Fry, and Life Member and dog trainer Cynthia Kindell.
