Earl W. "Wally" Timmons is Veterans Day Parade Grand Marshal

Grand Marshal for the 2012 Veterans Day Parade held in Virginia Beach, VA on November12, 2012 was Mr. Earl W. "Wally Timmons. He is a long time member of the American Legion, Virginia Beach Post 110, and the Hampton Roads Council of Veterans Organizations.
Due to his illness, Wally was not able to participate in the parade or the Veterans Day Ceremony at the Tidewater Veterans Memorial. On Wally's behalf, Jennifer Timmons, his daughter, delivered his speech and accepted a copy of the "Veterans Day Proclamation" from Michael T. Maliniak, CAPT USN (Ret) and President, Hampton Roads Council of Veterans Organizations. The Proclamation was signed by the Mayors of the cities of Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Chesapeake.
Nancy Timmons, Wally's wife of 50 years, also participated in the Wreath laying Ceremony at the Tidewater Veterans Memorial alongside Virginia Beach Mayor William D. Sessoms, Jr., City Councilman William R. DeSteph, Jennifer Timmons, SGTMAJ William S. McCoy, USMC (Ret), and the American Legion Virginia 2nd District Honor Guard.
