Welcome Home Troops Tailgate Party

Las Vegas, NV

Each year, Paradise Post 149 partners with "Welcome Home Heroes" to give a tailgate party for injured troops, both active duty and veterans, during the NASCAR Kobalt 400 race held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This year, nearly 40 volunteers from the Post family worked to make an enjoyable day for everyone. Nearly 1,5000 people came by to enjoy the food, fun, and music provided by "The BeatleShow" in Las Vegas.

Men and women from a wide area, came to visit, including Soldiers from Ft. Irwin, Marines from 29 Palms, Sailors from Naval Base San Diego, and of course our hometown heroes from Nellis Air Force Base.

After the event, Commander John Rupe said, "The event went so well, I couldn't be more proud of the post members that volunteered. From the grill guys, to the line servers, the friends and family members, and our wives who worked tirelessly all day, and the folks who worked the post booth! THANK YOU!"

But most importantly, thanks to the men and women in the Armed Forces who shared a bit of their lives with us before and after the race.
