Drawing of Edward F. Ucinski Sr., Stalag VII A

World War II drawing from Stalag VII A

St. Louis , MO

One of the things my grandfather kept in his belongings was this drawing. He never told me the history behind it, but it looks like it was from when he was in the POW camp. It has the name of the artist in one corner and Stalag: VII A in the other. It was one of the few things he had from his World War II days. I wished he would have told me this part of his story. It is another one of those memories forever lost to history. No one outside of my immediate family has seen this drawing in over 75 years. I am glad I could share this with you today in honor of National POW/MIA Recognition Day.

In loving memory of Edward F. Ucinski Sr. American Legion Post 302, St. Louis
