100 Miles For Hope

Uncasville, CT

The American Legion is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization with great political influence perpetuated by
its grassroots involvement in the legislation process from local districts to Capitol Hill. Legionnaires’ sense
of obligation to Community, State and Nation drives an honest advocacy for veterans in Washington. The American
Legion stands behind the issues most important to the nation's veterans community, backed by resolutions passed by
volunteer leadership.

March 11, 2020 - American Legion National Commander speaking with Congress:

Yesterday, Aug. 11, 2020, my walk in support of The American Legion's 100 Miles For Hope campaign, which was brought
about to bring attention to the Veterans & Children Foundations, was another long day. My walk had me visiting VFW's Post 10060- Montville, Conn., American Legion Post 112 - Montville, and American Legion Post 9 - New London, Conn., where I am an American Legion member. It was a long day - 20.7 miles today - totaling to date 72.2 miles.

The American Legion provides a lot to individual servicemembers (active duty and former active duty) and their families every year, financially and through a multitude of assistance programs. The American Legion national commander asked for help to raise/replenish much needed financial assistance for the Veterans & Children Foundation, so the American Legion Family can continue to do what we do best: HELP VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES. WE THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN PROVIDE.

The American Legion’s success depends entirely on active membership, participation and volunteerism. The American Legion belongs to the people it serves and the communities in which it thrives.
