I'm Kay Redepenning Barnick. I am walking in honor of my father and 3 uncles who were veterans. I walk outside my small rural Minnesota hometown. I see the beauty of nature, signs of death and thoughtless littering of others, but I find comfort in the familiar sites, sounds and smells of home. I'm thankful for the men and women who have been and are away from the safety of their homes, so I can be safe as I take my daily jaunts in the countryside. What I have taken for granted is truly a gift.
