Riding for 100 Miles for Hope.

The battle is over! #100MILESFORHOPE

Albany, NY

Kathy Schmitz-Morfe of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1610 of Albany, N.Y., completed 100 Miles for Hope on Monday, Nov. 9, 2020. I recently had two total knee replacements. I was wondering how I was going to complete my 100 miles in time for Veterans Day.
My neighbor Sheila also signed up to do it and we were going to walk every day. After discussing it further I was able to ride my recumbent bike until I was comfortable enough to go out on my road bike. Sheila was the motivator and we were out daily, riding up and down the street. Before you knew it the neighbors were cheering us on.
I also kayaked in my sit-on-top kayak for a total of 10 miles toward my goal. I am so grateful to be part of this challenge and thrilled that I was able to complete it by Veterans Day.
